There's a difference between a shrub that's been thoughtfully shaped and one that's been buzzed into a ball. Shearing everything into the same shape looks uniform for a week, then grows back shaggy and stressed.

Where a natural shape suits the plant, we trim to it. Where a formal hedge line is the goal, we keep it tight and even. Either way, cuts are made so the plant stays healthy and fills in properly.

When a Shrub Is Past Saving

Some shrubs have been hacked back so many times, or are so overgrown or unhealthy, that removal is the smarter move. We'll tell you which plants are worth keeping and which ones you'd be happier replacing. Removal and a fresh planting can often happen in the same visit.
